Crosses for the troops was designed for the purpose spreading the word concerning the Catholic Action Centers Homeless Voice Cross Cooperative program. Through the Homeless Voice Cross Cooperative members are able to get a hand up in supporting themselves and their families through the dignity of work. Each member works as much as they can and as the cooperative sells the crosses the profits are split based on the number each member has produced. In these economic circumstances crosses provides not only hope to an underprivileged economy, but hope to our brave men and women in uniform. They risk their lives, they spend many lonely hours away from family and friends. Thankfully one of the things that can never be denied them wherever they might be is the glory of God and his love. Yet sometimes faith can be challenged when facing adversity. Sometimes a simple thought or promise that there are those who care can mean all the difference in the world. Help show a soldier you care by sending them a gift of love. Donate a hand made cross for $5.00 that will be sent to a soldier on your behalf. Crosses will be distributed to the troops through the chaplains in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you wish, you may provide your email to the soldier receiving your cross to let them know that both God and we at home are with them. You may of course also purchase a few for family and friends knowing that the proceeds will be going to men and women who desperately need the financial support that the Homeless Voice Cross Cooperative offers.
